Stonewall Retrievers breeds only a few select litters each year, so we don't always have puppies for sale. We hope to have a litter available in late June. When breeding, Jan selects OFA-certified AKC dams and sires from pedigrees designed to produce puppies that not only have maximum hunting potential but will also be friendly, loving companions. However, puppies will be available at the end of May from a litter bred by Jan's friend Teri Tith in Livermore. The sire is Hightest Kennel's Eagles Ring of Fire MH ("Johnny") and the dam is Teri's hunting dog, Poplar Forest Dreaming of Dixie ("Dixie"). Jan has worked with Dixie, the dam, and is so impressed by her hunting talent and trainability that she is planning to purchase a puppy from this litter. Both sire and dam are OFA-certified excellent.
SIRE: Eagles Ring of Fire MH ("Johnny")Johnny is an 85-pound, muscular, heavy-coated dog. He attained his AKC Master Hunter title in 2009. Before then, he placed fourth in a Qualifying stake and ran Amateur All-Age stakes in Field Trials. Johnny passed the 2009 Master National in Texas. He placed third at the Firewater South Dakota Super Retrieve Series and ran three series of the 2009 Crown Championship. Johnny has hunted both waterfowl and upland game, and is an excellent dog in the blind and the field. He is a level-headed dog and easy to train.
DAM: Poplar Forest Dreaming of Dixie ("Dixie") Dixie is a four-year-old, 65-pound female with a fine pedigree. She is a hardcharging dog who loves water and is eager to please in the field. She is very trainable, and has hunted successfuly for two seasons now, both upland game and ducks. She is a loving family pet when not on the job.
